Alan Phillips of our office was engaged to act for his client charged with murder following a shooting incident in 2021.

Scott Lynch of Counsel was briefed. A trial was prepared for and reached in May 2025. At the commencement of the trial, following negotiations, the Crown accepted a plea of guilty to a manslaughter charge, and the murder charge was dropped. Our client was sentenced, and received immediate eligibility for parole.

Diligent representation by our office helped our client avoid mandatory life imprisonment for murder.
