Alan Phillips of our office was engaged to act for his client who was charged with serious drug offences including trafficking over an approximate 9.5 month period. The allegations included that he facilitated a 'dead drop' supply of a kilogram of methamphetamine. Police raided his house and found a further 0.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, along with 5 litres of methamphetamine oil. It was alleged that he was in the process of converting the oil to crystal form, which would have equated to 5 kilograms of methamphetamine crystal ('ice').

He was remanded in custody in the Magistrates Court following his arrest. Alan Phillips was engaged to act shortly afterwards. The following week, Alan Phillips briefed Daniel Boddice of Counsel to appear in the Supreme Court of Queensland for an application for bail.

Bail was granted to the client despite the seriousness of the offences on strict conditions. No surety was required by the Court despite the significant quantum of the drugs and what was alleged to be a strong case against our client.
