Alan Phillips of our office represented his client at a committal hearing in August 2026 for allegedly possessing half a kilogram of methylamphetamine, and 25 litres of GHB. His client's matters were before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court.

The client was refused bail by a Magistrate and engaged our office to assist with Supreme Court bail. Following preparation and submissions, he was granted bail by the Supreme Court.

The matter progressed and the evidence was disclosed. It was reviewed and a view was formed by Alan Phillips that the evidence was not sufficient for our client to be put before a jury on the charge. A submission was made that our client had no case to answer, and that he should be discharged.

Following submissions, the Magistrate agreed, and discharged our client on both offences despite their seriousness.
