Alan Phillips of our office applied for bail for his client who was found allegedly in possession of 35 kilograms of methamphetamine. The defendant was charged following a targeted intercept by the Queensland Police Service on the Gold Coast.

The significant amount of drugs were allegedly found in the boot of the vehicle.

The defendant was charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs, possession of the drugs, possessing items used in the commission of a drug offence, and possessing alleged proceeds of drug offending.

The police submitted the defendant would be an unacceptable risk if granted bail. Compelling submissions were made by Alan Phillips and the Magistrate was persuaded to grant bail on strict conditions.
